This website provides comprehensive information on learning and teaching at the University. It introduces the University’s Learning and Teaching Plan, performance indicators for Learning and Teaching, and “PEER & I” Graduate Attributes which underpin the development of exceptional learning and teaching experiences to our students. It also highlights special features in our overarching curriculum structure as well as policies and initiatives that support excellence in teaching at the University.
The University continues its efforts in offering students the best learning experience at various fronts and some examples are:
- to maintain quality and academic standards as evident in effective implementation of enhancement measures on programme outcomes relating to Generic Intended Learning Outcomes, Programme Outcomes Assessment, etc.;
- to enhance the quality of student learning through the comprehensive review of the undergraduate curriculum and provision of a broad spectrum of multidisciplinary undergraduate programmes, covering artificial intelligence and educational technology, sports science and coaching, heritage education and arts management, as well as integrated environmental management and other emerging areas;
- to enrich academic programmes by developing new courses and teaching contents, such as positive and values education, the Basic Law, national and national security education;
- to support to students’ whole person development with a new non-formal learning strategy and enhance support and resources for students, ranging from academic advising, career development, language enhancement to internship experience;
- to facilitate student non-local learning experience to foster internationalisation, and to strengthen cross-boundary collaboration with GBA institutions; and
- to strive for quality learning and teaching by enhancing the use of technology in promoting effective learning such as the use of e-Portfolio, proactive adoption, review and enhancement of virtual learning, teaching and assessment, incorporating emerging technologies into disciplinary learning, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration to facilitate the development of AI in education and cross-disciplinary learning, and providing various support for staff professional enrichment and sharing of good practices.
Students are encouraged to explore the many opportunities available in both formal and non-formal learning to achieve their academic and personal goals. The website also offers a platform for the EdUHK community to share ideas and strategies for learning and teaching.
